Brain Research and its Application in the Classroom is a workshop designed to show the function of the brain in the learning process. Once educators understand the way the brain functions, they will be able to address student needs in the classroom. This workshop will address retention, transference and practical application in the classroom.
TEACHER OBJECTIVES:
- To teach and/or review the way the brain functions during the learning process
- To integrate brain research strategies in classroom instruction
- To implement brain research teaching strategies to enhance student retention, transference, and practical application.
- To utilize brain research strategies in the development of lesson plans
- To recognize and address eye positions based on brain research.

- Arts-integration
- Cooperative grouping
- Student tutoring
- Class discussion
- Learning modalities
- Hemispheric activities
- Metacognition, etc.
These strategies will enhance instruction, planning, retention, transference, and practical application in the core curricula:
- Teachers will recognize and address student learning styles based on eye positions.
- Teachers will facilitate student-created lessons.
