Teach Study Skills and Increase Standardized Test Scores is a workshop designed to utilize study skills and increase standardized test scores. The skills addressed are as follows: study skills, test taking skills, reading in the content areas, note taking, creating books that outline subject matter and developmental reading strategies. Some developmental reading skills include the following: the main idea, author's purpose, sequencing, finding main characters, identifying the point of view, theme, setting and plot supporting details, building vocabulary, and reading for enjoyment.
TEACHER OBJECTIVES:
- To utilize study skills to increase standardized test scores
- To know how to implement strategies applied to reading in the content areas, taking notes and creating books that outline subject mater
- To use developmental reading strategies.

- Teachers will utilize study skills and teach their students note taking and .test taking skills.
