Color Me Smart-Step by Step Reading Strategies with Brain Research is a workshop designed to instruct teachers in how color affects visual discrimination of words in print. This workshop will also provide step by step instructions on the teaching of remedial reading and basic writing. The workshop will include teaching the following: basic sight words, phonemic awareness, prefixes, suffixes, root words, word attack skills, context clues, advanced vocabulary words, simple sentences, compound sentences, complex sentences, compound complex sentences and paragraph writing.

- To teach and/or review basic reading strategies.
- To utilize color in classroom instruction
- To utilize reading strategies in the development of lesson plans
